Arts and Science

My current aims in the arts and science world are to become proficient at pewter casting, become sufficiently proficient at calligraphy to be able to calligraph scrolls which my Lady can illuminate and I wish to be able to deliver a recorder piece successfully at our annual Bardic event. I hope I hit some of the goals!

I haven't done too much pewter casting but I hope to get into more of it.

I have done a reasonable amount of leather work. I enjoy it as it is very accessable and you don't have to be a great artist to make neat and nice work.

At our annual Bardic event in 2007 I did a joint piece with Sister Mairi Jean. It was a simply piece and it was mostly successfully delivered. I haven't done much pracising since then however.

Calligraphy
My hand is still shaky and I have a lot to learn. Currently I understand that I need to find myself a left handed nib and some other odds and ends that Lady Cassandra Tantifer has said she'll look up for me. No pictures of attempted works yet, sorry.

I have acquired a book on arabic scripts and now need to learn how to caligraph something in arabic. I have caligraphed seven virtues on a belt in arabic. I think it came out well and correct but the process leads me to want to learn the language a bit more.
